Education can help people recognize escalating patterns and seek appropriate support.<\/p><\/article>\n          <article id=\"safety\"><span class=\"ndvor-num\">03<\/span><h2>Safety Planning<\/h2><p>A safety plan can address emergency contacts, important documents, children and pets, transportation, medications, digital privacy, workplace safety, and a safer way to leave when necessary. Safety planning should be individualized to the person's circumstances.<\/p><\/article>\n          <article id=\"victim-services\"><span class=\"ndvor-num\">04<\/span><h2>Victim & Survivor Services<\/h2><p>Victim-service programs may provide advocacy, shelter referrals, legal assistance, counseling referrals, compensation information, and help navigating criminal-justice systems. Availability and eligibility vary by jurisdiction.<\/p><\/article>\n          <article id=\"records\"><span class=\"ndvor-num\">05<\/span><h2>Understand Registry Records<\/h2><p>An allegation, arrest, criminal charge, protective order, and criminal conviction are not the same thing. The National Domestic Violence Offender Registry is conviction-based.
